PCTEL, Inc. (Nasdaq:PCTI), a leading provider of Internet access products and wireless mobility software, announced today that its Board of Directors has unanimously elected Carlton Aihara to become an officer of the company. Carlton is currently PCTEL's Vice President of Global Sales.

Mr. Aihara is a seasoned veteran with more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience in leading technology firms. Mr. Aihara joined PCTEL in 1998 as Director of Northern Asian sales, and contributed to PCTEL's successful initial public offering in 1999. He was later promoted to run PCTEL's Asia Pacific team. In 2002, he was given responsibility to run PCTEL's Global Sales Organization. Prior to PCTEL, Aihara has held various executive positions at Adaptec, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADPT), Sandisk, Inc.(Nasdaq:SNDK), Conner Peripherals, and Epson.

Mr. Aihara will continue his global sales management role in establishing PCTEL as an industry leader in supplying soft modem solutions and wireless access products. PCTEL's regional sales managers report directly into Mr. Aihara.
