PCTEL To Provide Segue Infrastructure for Wi-Fi `Hotspot' Network CHICAGO, Feb 26, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

PCTEL, Inc. (NASDAQ:PCTI), a leading provider of Internet access products and wireless mobility software, announced that it will install a temporary public wireless local access network (WLAN) at the EyeforWireless conference, taking place in San Francisco at the Sheraton Gateway hotel, February 27-28, 2003. The Wi-Fi network will be configured using PCTEL's Segue(TM) Network Gateway, Segue Controller and a new dual-mode Segue(TM) Roaming Client, designed to facilitate connections between Wi-Fi networks, CDMA2000 1X and GPRS networks. The PCTEL network will provide enough capacity to serve an estimated 150 EyeforWireless conference participants.

"We are pleased to support the EyeforWireless conference with our Segue(TM) Gateway, Controller and Roaming Client software," said Marty Singer, PCTEL Chairman and CEO. "This conference is a natural fit for us, as we both have the same goals: to help service providers and users manage the convergence of Wi-Fi and cellular technologies to achieve ubiquitous coverage."

The EyeforWireless event will provide PCTEL an opportunity to showcase its Segue(TM) Network Gateway, Segue(TM) Network Controller and Segue(TM) Roaming Client products while giving conference attendees a fast, easy and enjoyable internet experience. Anyone attending the conference with a Wi-Fi-enabled PC or handheld device will be able to access PCTEL's free network.

PCTEL will also have free trial copies of its Segue(TM) Roaming Client available at its booth.

PCTEL offers three innovative mobility software products. Its Segue(TM) Roaming Client simplifies Wi-Fi network interface card installation and enables roaming between different 802.11 environments. It also permits roaming between WLANs and cellular networks such as CDMA2000 1x, GPRS and PHS. PCTEL's Segue(TM) Network Gateway and Segue(TM) Controller perform all of the routing, authentication, IP addressing, security, and billing access required in 802.11 networks.

PCTEL will also demonstrate its complete Segue(TM) product line at the upcoming CTIA Wireless '03 show in New Orleans, March 17 - 19, booth #6421 in the Morial Convention Center.
