(Nasdaq: PCTI), a leading provider of Internet access products and wireless mobility software, and SOURCENEXT, Japan's largest retailer of PC software, announced today a strategic alliance making SOURCENEXT the exclusive distributor of PCTEL's 802.11 Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) Roaming Client software to more than 2,000 retail outlets in Japan. SOURCENEXT also intends to distribute PCTEL's Segue(TM) Roaming Client to consumers through their online purchasing service. PCTEL will be demonstrating its portfolio of Wi-Fi(TM) hardware and software solutions including its Roaming Client in booth #210 at the 802.11 Planet Wireless Conference and Expo, December 3rd through 5th in Santa Clara, California.

The alliance focuses on the delivery of customized Japanese language versions of PCTEL's Segue(TM) Roaming Client software product branded by SOURCENEXT as 'Dokodemo Musen LAN' (WLAN Anywhere). SOURCENEXT will provide Japanese language manuals and develop packaging designed to be more appealing to Japanese consumers. SOURCENEXT will also market the product through print and online advertising as well as in-store promotions.

PCTEL's Segue(TM) Roaming Client allows 802.11 wireless subscribers to have multiple configuration profiles and seamless connectivity between wireless networks. The Segue(TM) Roaming Client automatically locates and connects the subscriber to the network. The subscriber is given the ability to configure and control which 802.11 network to connect with.

PCTEL's Segue(TM) WLAN software product will support all major Wi-Fi(TM) PCMCIA and embedded WLAN cards currently available in the Japanese market for all Windows-based operating systems. Future releases of the Segue(TM) Roaming Client will include support for roaming between WLAN and cellular networks. Specifically, the Segue(TM) Roaming Client will support roaming between WLAN and PHS as well as WLAN and JCDMA networks.
