YDI Wireless To Distribute PCTEL's Segue Product Line
CHICAGO and FALLS CHURCH, Va., Aug 14, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
PCTEL, Inc. (NASDAQ:PCTI), a leading provider of wireless solutions and access technology, and YDI Wireless, Inc. (OTCBB:YDIW), a leading developer and supplier of broadband wireless solutions, today announced YDI will begin to distribute PCTEL's Segue products. Under the arrangement, YDI will have distribution rights to PCTEL's Soft Access Point Module (Segue SAM) and the Segue Analyzer. YDI will also have rights to private label PCTEL's Segue products. Further, YDI will make the Segue Roaming Client available with 802.11 client devices. Financial terms were not disclosed.
YDI currently designs, integrates, and distributes a variety of solutions operating in unlicensed spectrums. These include the widely used and very popular 802.11 standard for 2.4 and 5 GHz frequencies, which is commonly referred to as "Wi-Fi." PCTEL, among other things, designs software solutions that simplify the wireless access experience for consumers and carriers. DTI, its wireless intelligence company, designs products that characterize the performance of wireless networks and provides information on how to optimize those networks.
